The Cavalli Beach House Retreat now offers guests the excitement
of Helicopter Sightseeing Tours departing and returning from the beach
in front of the house. TOUR ONE: Flying most of the way but including a guided 4WD trek. Once on the ground the 4WD will meet the aircraft to begin the 4WD tour. The 4WD tour is also a sole charter and is for an unspecified time but usually takes approx. 4 hours due to a gourmet lunch being included in the tour. |

The tour includes the Cape Reinga Lighthouse, Tapotupotu Bay and the Te Paki stream with its giant sand dunes; (we have sleds available for those who wish to slide down the dunes).
When the 4WD tour is complete we arrive back at the airfield for the flight home. The flight back to the Bay of Islands includes spectacular scenery such as the Parengarenga Harbour and Great Exhibition Bay where there is once again the option to stop at a private beach for a swim or just to take a stroll along the beach itself. This area is very remote and without a doubt one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand with it's pure white Silica sand and crystal clear water.
The flight also passes across the Houhora Harbour, Whangaroa Harbour and the Cavalli Islands prior to returning to Cavalli Beach House.

largest kauri forest in the world and introduce you to their relationship

environment; in former times a home and playground to Maori is brought to
life by not only the sounds and potential sightings of its inhabitants but
by friendly experienced local Maori guides who willingly share their knowledge,
stories, song and musical instruments to enlighten and enhance this tranquil
and spiritual location. A highlight of your experience with Footprints will
be an introduction to Tane Mahuta God of the Forest. (Forest Tour duration
approx. 2 hours)

0930 Depart Cavalli Beach House for your 40 minute helicopter (approx.) flight across to Omapere where you will be met by your Footprints Waipoua guide.

1230 Enjoy a relaxing lunch at Copthorne Hokianga on the shores of the beautiful Hokianga Harbour.
1400 Rejoin your helicopter for a short scenic flight over the Hokianga Harbour area before returning to your original departure point in the Bay of Islands. Flight duration approx. 55 minutes.
1455 Return to Cavalli Beach House
Cost: $3,995.00 for 2 persons additional passengers $200 per person.
Timings are recommended only and can be adjusted to suit
individual clients needs. Extended Options to above tour available as follows:
Option 1
On your return from your forest tour with Footprints, there is an
option to take a short boat trip across the harbour to the giant sand dunes. Your guide will
find a suitable picnic spot where you can enjoy a gourmet picnic lunch provided
by the Copthorne Hokianga. You have some time to explore the sand dunes and surrounding
areas and try your skills at sand tobogganing if you wish. Sand toboggans
and instruction will be provided. Recommended time 1½ - 2 hours.
Option 2
Following lunch at the Copthorne Resort Omapere, join the modern Crossings
Hokianga boat. The guided boat cruise may visit or make interpretive stops
of places that are of historical interest such as Whiria Hill, home of Rahiri
the Ngapuhi ancestor, Motuti the resting place of Bishop Pompallier, New Zealands
first Catholic Bishop, Horeke, site of the Mangungu Mission Station (historical
site of the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi) and Kohukohu, an early kauri
timber mill and ship building town, and Rawene, the Hokiangas oldest
European settlement The boat tour concludes in Opononi where you will meet
the helicopter for your return flight to the Bay of Islands.
